Belgian companies can recuperate VAT in their Belgian VAT return. Foreign Companies can recuperate Belgian VAT through the European VAT refund procedure. Please note that the toll is 100% deductible. The refund for 2018 may be claimed until 30/09/2019. For more information, please check with your accountant.

• If you pay the toll on a post-paid scheme with a fuel card, via a Business Partner or by direct debit, you only need to submit the fleet invoices, i.e. the Sofico document entitled “FACTURE”, to the VAT authorities. You do not need to submit the annexes (document entitled “Annexe”). However, you will need to keep the annexes at the tax authorities’ disposal in case of a future Tax control.
  Please note that any Sofico fleet invoice (fleet invoice of the Walloon Region) you might need to get a VAT refund is available on the Road User Portal (RUP). To access them, log onto the RUP, click on “My Invoices”, choose the desired “invoice date” and click on “View >>” (on the same line to the right), then click on the payment mean for which you wish to see the fleet invoice. Under the “Document type” column, you will see “Fleet invoice”. On the same line, click on “French” (under the “Download” column) to download your fleet invoice. The fleet invoice of Wallonia (Sofico invoice) is only available in French.

  Please note that any Sofico invoice (invoice of the Wallon Region) you might need in order to get a VAT refund is available on the Road User Portal (RUP). To access them, log onto the RUP, click on “My Invoices”, choose the desired “invoice date” and click on “View >>” (on the same line to the right). Under the “Licence plate number” column, click on the licence plate number you are interested in and you will then be able to download the invoice of the Walloon Region (Sofico invoice), as well as the tax statements of the Flemish Region and the Brussels-Capital Region. Important: the invoice of the Walloon Region (Sofico invoice) is only available in French.
